We are very excited that you will be joining us at the 23rd Annual Texas Payroll Conference! 

The Board of Directors wants to make sure that your experience at the Texas Payroll Conference is not only memorable but fun! When attending TPC for the first time, you may feel unsure as to what to bring, what to do, what's expected, how do I do this, and the list goes on.  Below are some items to keep in mind when planning your trip to Lubbock. We have made this available in a printable format. 

Our main recommendation -- take the opportunity to network and meet new friends!

To ensure that your experience is enjoyable, below is a list of action items and things to bring:

Pre-Conference
After you register online for TPC:

TPC has scheduled a first-time attendee orientation for Wednesday morning at 9:00 AM, plan now to attend.

Make your hotel reservations

 If you are flying to the conference, secure your travel arrangements

  • Southwest Airlines, American Airlines/Eagle, United/Continental Express  

 Travel from airport to hotel

  • Overton Hotel Shuttle phone is at baggage claim.
  • Estimated taxi fare is $ 25.00 one way.
  • Rental Car available at airport.  
  • Keep in mind that on-site hotel parking is FREE.

What to Bring/Pack

  • Attire during conference sessions is Business Casual.  Meeting rooms are generally cool, so bring a jacket or sweater to help you adjust accordingly.  In addition, comfortable footwear is highly recommended.
  • Bring plenty of business cards to give to exhibitors and colleagues.
  • Print your session handouts before you leave the office and bring them with you.  Copies will not be available on-site. 
  • Bring highlighters, post-it notes, pens, pencils and notepad or paper.
  • Laptop power strips available at each workshop session in the first few rows.

 At the Conference

  • Wireless Internet access is FREE within the entire conference.
  • Participate in workshops; visit with the exhibitors; meet & enjoy fellow attendees, colleagues or payroll professionals.
  • Take the time to network with new friends or catch up with old ones!
  • Be prepared to be “on your own” for dinner on Wednesday & Thursday evenings.
